Domenica 14 novembre 2021 si è tenuta a Budapest la nuova edizione degli MTV Europe Music Awards, la serata-evento dedicata alla celebrazione della Musica e dei protagonisti della scena musicale europea e non solo. La Papp László Budapest Sportaréna ha ospitato le performance delle più grandi star del mondo, tra cui Ed Sheeran, i OneRepublic, Maluma, gli Imagine Dragons e i Maneskin.
Proprio questi ultimi, i Maneskin, hanno anche portato a casa un altro incredibile successo: sono i vincitori della categoria Best Rock, in cui gareggiavano contro i Coldplay, i Foo Fighters, gli Imagine Dragons, i Kings Of Leon e i The Killers. Damiano, Ethan, Victoria e Thomas sono i primi italiani a trionfare in questa categoria. Premiato anche Ed Sheeran nelle categorie Best Song e Best Artist, e, tra i tanti, i BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish e Lil Nas X. Aka7even vince il Best Italian Act.
